We have transformed a spacious basement of a beautiful country house into an exceptionally lavish home cinema room, featuring a huge 165‑inch 2.35:1 screen paired with the Sony VPL‑VW550 4K projector, while a 7.2.2 Dali sound system fills the space with immersive audio.

This ten‑seat cinema room also features a fibre‑optic star ceiling that adds a touch of cinematic glamour. The high‑spec cinema blends retro styling with contemporary touches, creating a truly stunning and comfortable viewing experience. Watch the complete transformation in just over five minutes.

Special thanks to Fenella Jane Designs for her imaginative and tasteful interior design contributions. The finished cinema area measures approximately 6.7 metres from front to back and slightly over 5 metres wide at the widest point, with an original ceiling height of 2.32 metres.

The project spanned several months, with an emphasis on meticulous workmanship and quality rather than speed. Our choice of the VPL‑VW550 projector was driven by the need for an Ultra HD model with motorised zoom, focus, lens shift and lens memories to accommodate various aspect ratios while maintaining a constant image height on the 2.35:1 screen.

Everything in the cinema is seamlessly controlled via a Control4 EA3 using a single remote or the client’s iPhone..
